ABOUT MELISSA
I grew up in a small coastal town in California, but found my home in Colorado when I first moved to Fort Collins to attend Colorado State University in 2008. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science with a minor in Business Administration, as well as a Master's in Agricultural Education. While teaching ended up not being the career for me, I have always been devoted to helping and educating people.
Along the way, I also met my husband, Trevor. We now live on his family's farm and ranch northeast of Denver, where we raise black Angus cattle and farm corn, wheat, and hay. Our greatest joy is raising our children in this lifestyle, and teaching them what it means to be stewards of the land.
After 5 years of working in the agriculture non-profit world, I decided that raising our kids was more important to me than working outside the home, and I chose to start my own bookkeeping business in 2018. My goal is to provide my clients with nothing less than excellence in my work. Owning a business takes a lot of time, effort, and sacrifice. I hope that the services I provide can help my clients by taking tasks off their plate to allow them to get back to what they do best - running their businesses.
1. God first.
It is only by His will that I get to live this life, and I am very honest and straight-forward about my faith.
2. People and relationships matter.
I am a small business owner too, so my clients aren't just a set of books to me. I make a point to get to know clients and their businesses on a personal level.
3. Integrity is key.
I want my clients to know they can trust me with their business. Honesty, sincerity, and honor are all words I live by daily.
